Colorado is dry most of the year, but our seasonal swings and occasional snowmelt events put real demands on basement finishes. Choosing materials with that in mind is one of the simplest ways to protect the investment. A few of our go to picks:

• Luxury vinyl plank flooring with a stone polymer core, which handles minor slab movement and any humidity spikes
• Porcelain tile in wet areas, since it does not care about moisture and lasts decades
• Moisture resistant drywall on the lower portions of framed walls
